Abstract

Several Hg(II) mixed ligand complexes of thiosemicarbazones (2-acetylpyridine-, 4-
aminoacetophenone- and 2-furaldehyde thiosemicarbazones) with 2-aminothiazole have been
prepared. Structural investigations of the complexes have been made based on elemental
analyses, spectral (UV–Vis, IR) studies and conductivity measurements. The I.R. spectra
indicated the bidentate (neutral) behaviour of the ligands. The thermogravimetry (TG),
derivative thermogravimetry (DTG) and differential thermal analyses (DTA) have been used to
study the thermal decomposition and kinetic parameters of the complexes using the Coasts-
Redfern and Horowitz-Metzger equations.
